Please explain how much rewriting one should do and how you know what needs fixed?

How much should an author rewrite a technical paper? There is no set number for rewrites and it comes down to different variables for each project. If it is a subject one is familiar with they could knock it out of the park the first time. If it’s a subject they are not as familiar with, it could take multiple rewrites to provide a finished product that is production worthy.

How do you know if something needs to be fixed? Subject matter experts reviewing the content should be able to provide feedback if they believe the paper is correct or if things need to be fixed. Also, having a potential user test the material for readability is another good way to provide feedback on the current quality of the product.

Overall there are many ways to test, review, and rewrite a paper and it comes down to the current situations on the project. What may work for one might not work for the other.

Please explain how much rewriting one should do and how you know what needs fixed?

When it comes to writing a document, essay, assignment, or even a manual, everyone wants to make sure they’ve perfected it, usually by rechecking and rewriting. Checking your work for errors or misplaced data is always a good idea when writing for work or school. Rewriting, however, can be as detrimental as it can be beneficial. One must keep in mind that constant rewriting may take too much time when dealing with a dead line on the project, and rewriting may take just as long as when writing it the first time, which can waste valuable time. When making a sizable amount of changes in the project, one may want to include co-workers and supervisors in the loop as to avoid confusion and to verify an approval to check that it there is enough time to spare for this undertaking. If your project is well underway and on schedule with no significant errors within the writing, keeping changes to a small limit can help making small errors larger. This can be done by rewriting data that tends to update more frequently throughout the project before completion, and helps you avoid the hassle of fully rewriting. There are also benefits of rewriting, such as if a large change needs to be made considering new information, if large parts of data become obsolete, if there are too many errors, or if you have enough time to spare to make small changes to help improve, or make it more professional. It all depends on the project and the allotted time for the project when deciding to rewrite your work.
