summary reading
When reading, notice that, while this author is like Dante in that he sort of ‘follows’ one woman, his intentions are quite different. What are these intentions? He speaks of his goal; what is this, and why? What sort of love do we find here, if any? Notice the language he uses when talking about how he approaches the woman, and ask yourself what it shows us about who the writer is and what he thinks of love.( read only 48-61.)
