The marriage of music and story reached new heights in the eighteenth century under the creative pen of Mozart. Don Giovanni is one of Mozart’s great operas that combines satire, tragedy, and glorious music. For this option, you are to analyze elements of Don Giovanni and place it in the context of eighteenth century themes. These themes include the Rococo attitudes toward sexuality, the reality of male privilege and female vulnerability; the distinctions of class and the upper class sense of privilege, among others. As in the assignment above, this option will require an element of research. Please document your paper following MLA, including both internal and external citations.
